From Porto di Vibo Marina, downtown Vibo Valentia is about 10 kilometers (roughly 6.2 miles) away – a journey that usually takes around 15–20 minutes by car, depending on traffic.

- Some cruise lines offer shuttle services for their passengers, making your transfer even easier.
Nearby Lodging
There are several charming hotels and guesthouses in Vibo Valentia, especially in the historic center. I’ve enjoyed staying in local bed and breakfasts that let you experience authentic Calabrian hospitality – perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.
Nearest Airport
For those arriving by air, Lamezia Terme International Airport (SUF) is the closest major airport. It’s about a 1-hour drive from Vibo Valentia, and taxis or pre-arranged transfers are available if you prefer a more direct route.
Sightseeing
Vibo Valentia’s historic center is a delightful maze of narrow streets, where you can wander, explore small shops, and enjoy traditional Calabrian cuisine. Don’t miss:

- Local Events & Festivals: The region frequently celebrates with lively festivals, especially during the summer. Expect local food fairs, religious processions, and musical performances that showcase traditional Calabrian culture.
- Daily Life: Shops and restaurants generally open for lunch from around 12:00 to 14:30 and again for dinner from approximately 19:30 onwards. Tipping is appreciated but not required – rounding up the bill is common courtesy.
