Valletta, Malta

Valletta, MaltaMediterranean

Valletta is a historic city in Malta, rich in culture and history, showcasing stunning architecture and vibrant streets. It is a popular destination for cruise passengers looking to explore ancient sites, local crafts, and beautiful waterfronts.

Note: It‘s a good idea to compare shore excursion costs between what your cruise line offers and options like Viator and GetYourGuide. They often provide lower prices and include customer reviews and ratings to help you choose the best option. They may also offer more more flexible cancellation or rescheduling policies than those available through your cruise line. However, while booking independently might give you more variety and potentially better rates, be mindful of your schedule - cruise line excursions are typically coordinated to match your ship‘s schedule with guaranteed pick-up and drop-off times.

Location & Transportation

The ship's location is not far from the capital itself—about a 20-minute steep walk. An elevator was recently built to help passengers reach the old town easily for only 1 Euro return. To find it, simply exit the cruise terminal and turn right onto the waterfront road. Just before the road passes under an archway, cross over and you’ll find the entrance. Once you’re up top, enjoy a lovely garden and panoramic views of Valletta.

There are plenty of taxis available at the port if you prefer not to walk.

If you’re planning to extend your visit or need a place to rest after a day of exploration, Valletta has several charming hotels. Some popular choices include:
