Location & Transportation
Larger cruise ships dock at the Passeig Marítim or at Muelle Dique de Potafoc. From here, you can take a long, scenic walk to the heart of Ibiza, where the bustling Sa Marina area awaits with its open-air bars, restaurants, and nightclubs. Smaller ships use Muelle Levante.
A great option to reach the city center is the City Boat, which departs every 15 minutes from a jetty located about 200 meters from the terminal (look for it on the left side across the car park). A return trip costs around €6 or €4 for a one-way journey. Taxis are also readily available—around €11 to Dalt Vila, and roughly €8 from the center back to the ship. Keep in mind that while the walk from the center to Dalt Vila is steep, the return downhill stroll is both easy and very enjoyable.
Nearby Lodging
Ibiza offers a range of lodging options to suit all tastes. You’ll find charming boutique hotels tucked away in the narrow streets of the Old Town and modern hotels along the beachfront. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a lively spot close to the action, there’s something to match your style.
Nearest Airport
Ibiza Airport is a short drive from the city center. Buses and taxis run frequently between the airport and the port, making transfers straightforward for cruise passengers.
Sightseeing
Ibiza is much more than a party destination; it’s a place steeped in history and natural beauty. Here are some highlights you shouldn’t miss:
- Old Town & Dalt Vila: Wander through the ancient, cobbled streets of Dalt Vila—the fortified old town. Walk through the impressive main entrance at Portal de Ses Taules and explore charming plazas, art galleries, and local shops.
- Panoramic Views: As you stroll through Dalt Vila, take time to enjoy the breathtaking vistas over the city and harbor.
- Caves Can Marca: Located in Port de San Miguel on the north of Ibiza, these mysterious caves were once used by smugglers and later by arms dealers during the Spanish Civil War. Now fitted with modern lighting, the guided tours (lasting around 30–40 minutes with an entrance fee of about €8) reveal incredible stalactite and stalagmite formations.
Additional sightseeing can include a relaxed walk along the scenic promenade, where you’ll find open-air cafes and local art installations that capture the island’s bohemian spirit.
Tours & Excursions
There are plenty of ways to explore Ibiza beyond the cruise port:
- City Boat Shuttle: Save time by taking the City Boat to the center – a fun and affordable way to start your day.
- Taxi Rides: If you’re keen to reach Dalt Vila, a taxi ride for around €11 is a popular choice. Once at Dalt Vila, enjoy a leisurely stroll downhill back to the center, taking in the local shops and sidewalk cafes.
- Organized Tours: Consider joining a guided walking tour to discover hidden corners of the Old Town or a bike tour to roam the narrow streets and coastal paths at your own pace.
No matter which option you choose, getting around Ibiza is part of the adventure!
